The Government has launched a public consultation on the proposals to replace current councils with up to three bigger councils in the county. At the online session, hosted by Leader of Guildford Borough Council, Cllr Julia McShane and Leader of Waverley Borough Council, Cllr Paul Follows, they will:
explain what Local Government Reorganisation is
outline the options being considered
show how to get involved
There will also be an opportunity to ask questions about what the changes could mean for you, your business, and our community.
This online session is the first in a series of opportunities our community will have to engage with Waverley.
The Government consultation is open until Tuesday 5 August.
You can find out how to respond to the consultation here.
There’s a link to the Surrey LGR Hub, which outlines information on Local Government Reorganisation and the two proposals.
Using the Government’s consultation questions as a guide, Waverley shares why they support the three unitary option.
