FREE History Mystery Trail launches in Godalming this summer
We're delighted to launch Godalming's brand new FREE History Mystery Trail, an exciting new initiative designed to encourage families to spend longer exploring the town centre while discovering some of Godalming's fascinating history.
Created by Godalming BID as part of our ongoing destination marketing programme, the interactive trail follows Godfrey the Goose as he leads curious explorers around the town, solving puzzles, cracking codes and uncovering hidden stories. The trail has been designed primarily for children aged around 7–12, although we're confident that younger and older curious explorers will enjoy it too.
As families solve puzzles, crack codes and uncover hidden stories, they'll be encouraged to explore more of the town and spend time discovering the fantastic businesses, landmarks and public spaces that make Godalming such a special place to visit.
This isn't just a one-off summer activity. The trail has been designed as a long-term asset for the town but is launching in time for summer holidays.
The launch is being supported by an integrated marketing campaign including school communications, social media, posters, leaflets, town centre promotion, distribution at local railway stations and targeted door-to-door delivery across the wider area, helping to raise awareness well beyond Godalming itself.
Trail guides are available free of charge from Godalming Library and Godalming Museum. Full details can also be found on the Discover Godalming website.
If you know families who might enjoy taking part, please help spread the word by sharing the trail with your customers, colleagues, friends and family.
And finally… watch this space. If Godfrey proves popular, he may not be the last mystery to arrive in Godalming. We already have a few ideas for where he could pop up next...
