Godalming BID (Business Improvement District) is an independent, not-for-profit organisation funded and governed by businesses within Godalming town centre.

Established in 2024, the BID exists to support a thriving, vibrant and successful town centre through destination marketing, business support and town centre enhancement projects.

If you are a local business interested in accessing some of the benefits and opportunities available through Godalming BID, you may be eligible to do so by making an annual voluntary contribution.

Businesses making a voluntary contribution can benefit from:

  • Inclusion within the Discover Godalming online business directory and “what’s on” calendar of events

  • Opportunities to feature in Discover Godalming's social media channels, email marketing and blog content. Discover Godalming currently reaches more than 3,500 social media followers and over 2,000 email subscribers, while attracting around 3,000 visits to the website each month.

  • Inclusion in seasonal campaigns, guides and town-wide promotional activity

  • Invitations to BID networking events / business socials

  • Access to BID initiatives and services, including DISC, our retail crime reporting and intelligence platform, as well as business cost-savings programme

Voluntary Contributions

Voluntary contributions start at £150 + VAT per year, or 2% of a business's rateable value, whichever is greater.

Applications are subject to approval by the BID Board. As the BID's purpose is to support and drive commercial success within Godalming town centre, voluntary contributions are typically only available to businesses operating from commercial premises within the BID area or immediately adjoining it.
