Local Government Reorganisation Business Webinar 28 July

Right now, the Government is running a consultation on the future of local government in Surrey. The consultation is open until Tuesday 5 August. Two options are being considered - reorganising Surrey into either three or two unitary authorities.

Waverley Borough Council is inviting businesses to join an Online Business Engagement Session on Monday 28 July from 1.30-3pm on Microsoft Teams.

Register for the Webinar >>

Hosted by the Leaders of Guildford and Waverley Borough Councils, Cllr Julia McShane and Cllr Paul Follows, this session will:

  • explain what Local Government Reorganisation is

  • outline the options being considered and what they could mean for your business (business rates collection, planning, highways, education, economic development, licensing, environmental health, waste collection and many more services will be impacted by these changes from March 2026).

  • show you how to get involved before the 5 August consultation deadline

This is the only opportunity businesses will get to share their views with the Government - and you’ll be walked through how to do this on the webinar - so please do join and encourage your local business peers to do the same.

You’ll also have the chance to ask questions about what these changes could mean for you and your wider organisation.
