Long Days, Local Ways: A Summer Invitation from Godalming BID
We’re delighted to announce “Long Days, Local Ways”, a summer campaign created in collaboration with local businesses to bring families into town, fill Godalming with life, and build on our recent national recognition.
Did you hear? Godalming has been shortlisted in Visa and the British Retail Consortium’s 2025 Let’s Celebrate Towns showcase.
That’s right! Godalming is one of just 30 towns recognised across the UK for bringing together local businesses and communities to help our towns grow and thrive.
Long Days, Local Ways is our collective opportunity to build on this momentum.
It’s about co-creating events, experiences, and everyday moments that remind everyone - locals and visitors alike - that Godalming is a great place to be. Keep reading to find out what we have planned and how your business can get involved…

The Godalming Glow - Evenings in August
We know Godalming isn’t always the first place people think of for nightlife or culture - and that’s exactly why we’re changing that.
Throughout August, The Godalming Glow will spotlight the food, art, creativity, and community that brings warmth and energy to the town in the evenings.
Think: Evening events, live music, pop-ups, tastings, and late-night shopping.
If you’re already planning events, considering staying open later, or want to brainstorm ideas so that you can get involved, get in touch today.
A town worth celebrating
We’ve heard a lot of conversations lately - in interviews, on the street, and in meetings - about what people hope for from the town centre: more variety, more buzz, stronger community connections, and a town that continues to make the most of its thriving local spirit.
Collaborative by nature, and designed to maximise your existing plans with minimal effort, help us remind people what makes Godalming so special, and worth celebrating.
