Join The Great Godalming Stamp-ede – Coming This Christmas!
This December, Discover Godalming (Godalming BID’s destination marketing brand) is launching The Great Godalming Stampede – a festive campaign designed to drive footfall, encourage local spending, and support all our town centre businesses in the lead-up to Christmas.
From 1–21 December, customers can collect one stamp for every individual purchase of £5 or more in participating town centre shops, cafés and businesses. Once they’ve collected six stamps from six different places, they can post their completed card into the festive collection box in the centre of town to enter the prize draw.
There are three luxury hampers to be won, each packed with goodies purchased directly from local businesses by Discover Godalming – ensuring the campaign directly supports our town centre economy.
1st prize: hamper worth £500
2nd prize: hamper worth £200
3rd prize: hamper worth £100
…all packed with local festive goodies.
Here’s what customers will do when the campaign goes live from 1 December:
Pick up a stamp card in any participating town centre business.
Collect a stamp for every individual purchase of £5 or more.
Get six stamps from six different shops or cafés.
Post completed cards into the festive collection box located inside Vinegar Hill, 87 High Street, by 4pm on Sunday 21 December.
Winners announced on 22 December.
Multiple entries welcome – the more you shop local, the more chances you have to win.
We’ll be promoting The Great Godalming Stampede across social media, local press and magazines, and posters in key town centre locations – encouraging residents and visitors to discover more of Godalming this festive season.
And don’t forget – there’s also Buy One Hour, Get One Free parking every Wednesday from 1 pm throughout December, giving shoppers even more reason to visit.
Here’s what businesses need to do to get involved:
Confirm your participation by emailing info@godalmingbid.co.uk with your name, business name, and best contact number.
We’ll deliver your free promotional kit, including:
An A3 poster for your shop window
A starter box of stamp cards
A self-inking stamp
Display the poster prominently and offer stamp cards to your customers.
Stamp customers’ cards for a purchase over £5.
Top up your supply of cards (if and when needed) from Godalming Museum (open Tuesday–Saturday, 10 am–4 pm).
Encourage your customers to shop local and join the Stamp-ede!
