After months of persistent lobbying and discussions with Waverley Borough Council, Godalming BID is delighted to announce that it has secured an exclusive allocation of 22 discounted parking permits at Woolsack Way car park for businesses within the BID area.
Located just across the road from Waitrose, opposite M&S, Woolsack Way offers a significantly more affordable parking option for town centre businesses and their staff, with annual permits costing less than half the price of some other central Godalming car parks.
Significant parking savings for BID businesses
The exclusive arrangement offers flexible monthly, six-monthly and annual permits, with savings of up to £1,140 per year compared with alternative town centre parking permits.
An annual Woolsack Way permit costs just £633, equivalent to £52.75 per month and a saving of £123 compared with paying monthly.
A further 10% discount is available when purchasing five or more annual permits together, subject to availability and potential allocation limits.
Flexible parking for staff
Each permit can be linked to up to three vehicles, with one active at any time. Businesses can switch between registered vehicles as often as needed using the MiPermit app or website, making the arrangement particularly useful for staff working different days or shifts.
Permits cover all chargeable parking periods at Woolsack Way. They are valid only at this car park and do not guarantee a parking space.
How to apply
The 22 permits are available now, exclusively to businesses within the Godalming BID area.
Businesses wishing to apply should email parking@waverley.gov.uk, providing their business name, permit holder's contact details and at least one vehicle registration number.
Waverley will confirm eligibility and set up a MiPermit account, allowing applicants to complete their purchase online.
Permits are subject to availability, and the number allocated to any one business may be limited depending on demand.
Refunds are available for complete unused months, subject to a £30 administration charge. Monthly permits can be renewed online for up to 12 months, while annual permits are reviewed before renewal.
